HOW TO MASTER YOUR BRAND BY MASTERING YOUR SCHEDULE: SEVEN WAYS TO GET IT ALL DONE
When people set out to be entrepreneurs, one of the benefits is that you control your own schedule.
A few years into this crazy ride, and you realize that you controlling your own schedule is also one of the greatest curses.
The buck stops with you. No matter if you are a team of 1 or 100. It is your responsibility to make it all happen.
From your brand to your customers to your audience at large to future growth to your staff to your family- the success of all this lies on a wildly successful brand.
To have a wildly successful brand, you must master your schedule to avoid overwhelm and stay focused on the big picture at hand.
1. Know your priorities.
We all wear a variety of hats from CEO to partner, parent to creator- know the titles you wear and the priorities that are in your big life plan. Now make your schedule reflect that.
2. Write it all down.
By writing down everything that you want to remember or do, you free up your brain to think, process, create and problem solve.
3. Check it off.
Once a task is done, check it off, literally. The simple act of checking an item off your list makes you feel accomplished while being a visual reminder to your brain that all is done with that topic.
4. Review and update daily.
Your schedule is not a “set it and forget it” item. Review every evening and update. Move projects around as necessary, update goals, and get ready for the next day.
5. Delegate or delete.
Sometimes our “to do” lists look more like the yellow pages. It isn't just a few items, it is pages deep. If this is you: delegate or delete, especially with the items older than one month.
6. Schedule variety.
You chose the entrepreneurial path for some variety. Make that happen. Schedule work days, days to create, days to learn, and days to explore. However that looks like for you, make sure that every week (or at least every month) has variety. Variety isn't just the spice of life, it is the key to a solid and grounded personal brand too.
7. Long term and short term success
Make sure your weekly schedule is accomplishing short and long term goals. Even if you invest 30 minutes a day, your goals will be reality. This long and short term approach means that your brand is always moving forward from success to success.
Mastering your brand is as easy as mastering your mind, life, and goals- which all get accomplished by slaying your schedule.
